![]() ![]() A refinement level of 0 means no refinement and a refinement level of n means n subdivisions per cell in each direction which corresponds to n^3 subdivided cells. The refinement level of each region is defined with respect to the background grid. The transition region between the near-to-model subregion and the background grid is called the far-from-model subregion and can not be finer than the near-to-model region. If more than one interface are necessary to correctly approximate the shape surfaces in a cell please refine the mesh locally by using the Local Mesh Properties (CFD) until this requirement is fulfilled. Only one solid/solid or one solid/fluid interface is allowed per cell. In case of solid/fluid interfaces the shape surfaces are discretized within the near-to-model subregion by using an immersed boundary technique which approximates the intersection of the shape surface in each cell by a planar surface. Each refined region includes a near-to-model subregion and a far-from-model subregion. It consists of a background grid containing locally refined regions automatically created around each shape. The CFD mesh is an octree-based Cartesian mesh. Mesh Properties (CFD) Mesh Properties (CFD) Simulation: Mesh > Global Properties (CFD) or (CFD legacy) ![]()
